Why Every Christian Should Read Deltora Quest
It’s not just because this one happens to be a huge nerd…
As a Christian, I have always had a unique view of denominationalism. I have a friend who argues that there shouldn’t be such a thing at all as different factions, parties, social groups of Christians. You end up with drastically different “brands” of Christians arguing over whose baptism protocol counts, and whose accidentally sends people to hell for not doing it right.
While I can understand that, and have experienced it personally, I respectfully disagree with this friend who I see as my brother. I believe there is a certain merit to differing denominations of the same religion. Not as “brands”, per se, but as varied flavors which all need a grain of salt to fully appreciate. A plate of well-seasoned chicken by itself, or nicely steamed broccoli with hollandaise by itself, or even perfectly creamy garlic mashed potatoes by itself, can be called a meal if you eat enough of it, I guess…
