I did the casting for you. You’re welcome.

Now is always a good time. (Photo credit: Pinterest.com)

I’m a bit sad to report, the 2005 film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom Of The Opera changed my young life. I was 11 and singing alto in my 7th grade chorus at the time. The film was appropriate enough viewing on a day when the teacher was out sick. The Opera Ghost went on to consume all my imagination for months, and left me mad for a way to express it.

And that was my introduction to fanfiction (or “phanfiction”, if you roll with the “phandom”, because everyone in it is at least as mad as the “phantom”). The rest is history.

Well, its been 15 years, and as an adult soprano who paid money for a weird but surprisingly delightful mobile game based on the original novel, I demand a reboot. Spiderman got two reboots in one decade, and multiple failed attempts at a musical. Where is my opera ghost?????

I’ve even taken the liberty of deciding on the all-star cast, for the convenience of any production house brave enough to do a take on this classic story for the new decade. I’m awful nice like that. No thanks necessary, but I will take my 20,000 franks in advance.
